Intake Attorney — Compliance & Regulatory

About the role

An Am Law 50 firm is looking for a US-licensed attorney to support its new-business intake function from its Boston or Washington, D.C. office. The role • Run and improve the processes for reviewing prospective clients, identifying and resolving conflicts, and assessing outside counsel guidelines. • Work with the intake managers, the firm's ethics officer and internal stakeholders: run conflict checks, interpret reports, draft engagement letters and waivers, and help negotiate client guidelines. • Maintain conflicts and engagement records, administer ethical walls and act as a go-to resource on intake and conflicts. • 60% in the office, with the rest remote. What we are looking for • A JD and a US licence, ideally in a state where the firm has an office. • Law firm intake or conflicts experience is helpful but not required. • Knowledge of ethics, legal and risk-management rules is an advantage. • Strong research, writing and communication skills, and comfort with databases. • Excellent organisation, sound judgement and absolute discretion.
